Where are the nearest ski resorts ?

Kreischberg is the nearest resort at around 6 miles/13 minutes drive away. Turracher Höhe is about 16 miles/25 minutes drive away and Mauterndorf is around 19 miles/23 minutes. Obertauern is a little further out at 29 miles/33 minutes drive. There are the smaller resorts of Frauenalpe and Flattnitz in the area, both good for beginners and young children. Where are the nearest airports ?

Klagenfurt is around 1 hr 9mins from the chalet. Salzburg is about 1 hr 32mins and Graz 1 hr 42mins. Please see the location page where there is more information, downloadable route plans and links to some airlines. All distances from 'Live Search' website.

How far is the chalet from the local village ?

The chalet is a couple of minutes drive from Stadl or if you prefer to walk it will take you approximately 10 minutes. The lido is located about halfway between the chalet and the village.

Do I need a car ?

We do recommend that you hire a car as this enables you to visit the resorts and attractions across a wider area. The local bus and train services are reliable but a car gives you more flexibilty to do things in your own time. Taxis can be expensive.
